Mental Health & Physical First Aid instructor
Counsellor in training
I’ve worked in Outdoor Education for over 25 years, supporting people of all ages through learning, challenge and adventure in a wide range of environments. My experience includes leading wilderness journeys in Scotland and the US, as well as delivering training across multiple outdoor disciplines.
I have a strong interest in mental wellbeing and trauma‑informed practice, and I’m passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces where people can learn at their own pace.
Alongside my outdoor work, I deliver First Aid and Mental Health First Aid training, helping individuals and organisations build confidence, awareness and practical skills to support themselves and others.

I have been working in Outdoor Education for over 10 years (beforehand I was a Police Officer).
I have found being, learning, and connecting in the outdoors invaluable to my wellbeing and the management of my PTSD.
I want to support others to discover and experience the benefits too.
I have worked in many different roles in outdoor education and have always aimed to support people who face significant challenges in life with their health and wellbeing.
I have specialised in studying equality, diversity, and inclusivity in the outdoors (with a focus on unconscious bias).
I am committed to continually develop my theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure I stay informed and equipped in my role.
